The poetry of Gary Snyder has been concerned about the four basic areas:Indigenous cultures and civilizations of North American Indians, Asian oriental culture,the natural ecology and eco-poetics.This paper mainly explained the attitude to "other" culture and the uniqueunderstanding of natural ecosystems from Gary Snyder outside the traditional Europeanculture. The Snyder's eco-poetics were simply introduced from a particular angle.The Snyder's life and his major works are introduced in the first chapter and theSnyder's style of writing poetry is also introduced. In the second chapter, the motivationof absorbing the oriental culture and North American Indian culture is introduced, andthe fusion of two cultures and the Western tradition is also introduced. In the thirdchapter introduces the Snyder's unique poetic concept.In short, this paper analyzes the poet's unique concept of poetics starting from therelation of Snyder and indigenous culture and oriental culture. The unique of Snyder'sworks is preliminarily understood.
