On The Uniqueness Of The Mendelssohn Music Creation

Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, is a composer, pianist, conductor, music educator, and socialactivist during the age of Romanticism in German. Three problems about Mendelssohn's areillustrated in this thesis, such as his biography and the environment of his growth, specificperformance on his unique Music Production and the enduring values about his musiccompositions with himself. By analyzing the fundament of the unique character aboutMendelssohn's musical creation, the paper depicts eight aspects, they are multi-disciplinary,creative, with a clear theme about nature, excellent skill and novel means for musical creation,songs without word following to pursuit of short brilliant and parallel structure of musicalprinciple, characteristics of dramatic and lyrical, dramatic and lyrical characteristics, uniqueawareness revealed in music, the lyrics with sense of paint composed of poetry and literature,which are different from Schubert's respectively. These researches can do favor to analyze andplay Mendelssohn works for music learners, elaborate the enlightening function ofMendelssohn's musical creation and recognize the Mendelssohn's contribution to thedevelopment of music.After all, the source of unique characteristic about Mendelssohn's creation is influenced byhis family background and social environment. To obtain these eight points, the papercomparatively analyses representative people's creation feature with Mendelssohn's, orderingby early, middle and late period of romantic.
