In contemporary Chinese governance the traditional government oriented mono-centric governance pattern became more and more clumsy, rigid and improper. The poly-centric governance pattern leads the contemporary Chinese governance pattern transformation to new orientation, which is an interactive pattern with more than one center. From the perspective of theories, poly-centric governance theory take self-governance theory as foundation, and welcome many power centers and service centers co-existence. They work out through competition and cooperation in order to offer the public more choices and better service. It can reduce the behavior of hitchhike, and make the public policies much more reasonable. From the perspective of research methodology, poly-centric governance pattern bring many social science methodologies in public affairs analysis. It connects macro phenomena and micro theories together, and values the governance performance impacts of source property and community property. From the empirical research perspective, the mineral safety and Nujing Dam Construction showed that non-government organizations positively drive the contemporary Chinese governance pattern transformation, and democratic cooperation system establish inside the government. Government strengthens monitor and distribution of the authority internally, and brings the social monitoring factors externally. Currently, mono-centric governance pattern and poly-centric governance pattern co-exist in China.
