On Computer Crime, Electronic Evidence Examination

The computer and computer technology are the fundamental conditions for the existence of information society. With the computer extensively used in the military, financial, educational fields as well as scientific research, the computer crime increasingly casts a huge threat on people's lives and economic development, serious damage to the stable social environment. Electronic evidence test, as a new investigative technique, has aroused an increasing attention duo to its advanced means of attacking against computer crime, strong crackdown, good results and the potentiality on combating computer crime. It provides for the public security, national security, judicature, military force and research institutions on fighting against and the prevention of the computer crime with a strong support from theory to practice. The present paper tests the depth of understanding on the inspection of electronic evidence, sets forth its characteristics and functions and put forward a set of viewpoints in terms of the further improvement in electronic evidence test, independent research and the development of test tools and software, training of technical personnel, together with technical parameters of the standard. Suggestions on the further improvement in E-evidence test are raised in the paper. Despite the short-term setup, the inspection of electronic evidence is on the way of rapid development and has a bright prospect.
