With the continuous improvement of reform and opening up and the implementation of the strategy "going out", the international competitiveness of China's enterprises has been further strengthened, the number of enterprises investing abroad increased year by year and China's FDI has increased significantly, which also bring a series of impacts to the domestic economic field. At the same time due to multiple factors at home and abroad, the domestic unemployment problem is very severe and it has increasingly become a focus of both China's theoretical and practical departments. With empirical analysis method, this paper studies the quantum and structural effects of China's outward direct investment on domestic employment, finding that direct and indirect employment effects are both positive.Due to China's ODI's substitutive impact on domestic capital, the indirect employment effects of domestic investment is negative. But at the same time, due to the ODI's promotes a stimulatory effect on export scale, the indirect employment effects of which is positive, and overall employment effect is still positive; Seen from the effects of ODI on employment structure by industries, ODI increased the proportion in China's tertiary industry employment significantly. The employment share of secondary industry is also increased, while the share of the primary industry is decreased. On the basis of empirical obervations, this paper puts forward the proposal of boosting domestic job creation by increasing our outward direct investment, which involves integrating the outward direct investment with expanding domestic capital and export, optimizing the structure of investment industries, and folstering vigorously the service industries related to the outward investment.
