Local accents have an important influence on learning English, because there are largedifferences between Chinese local accents and English pronunciation on the aspect ofphonetic systems. Especially, there are some sounds existing in English but not in Chinese, ifthere is no rigidly imitating and practicing, learners tend to use the similar sounds in theirnative language to replace the target sounds in English in processing of learning Englishpronunciation, so that the difficulties and errors will occur. In China, it is a universalphenomenon that most English learners'English pronunciation is influenced by the negativetransfer of Chinese pronunciation, especially by the negative transfer of Chinese local accents.Zhuanghe which have its own local accent is not an exception.Based on language transfer theory and contrastive analysis hypothesis, this researchinvestigates 30 subjects who are from a junior high school of Zhuanghe through the methodsof tape-recording and perception test, aiming to investigate results and errors caused by theinfluences of Zhuanghe local accent on the acquisition of English pronunciation. The research results show that: due to the negative transfer of local accent, influences ofZhuanghe local accent on the acquisition of English pronunciation are as follows: Zhuanghelocal students use Zhuanghe local accent [e] to replace English vowel /ai/; use Zhuanghe localaccent j [ ] to replace English consonant /,dr/; use Zhuanghe local accent q ['] to replaceEnglish consonant /,tr/; use Zhuanghe local accent x [ ] to replace English consonant / /;use Zhuanghe local accent y [j] to replace English consonant /,r/.The implication of this research is that negative transfer of local accent does exist inlearning English of Zhuanghe students. In teaching and learning English, it needs moreattention on the differences between Zhuanghe local accent and English phonetic system, soas to reduce the negative transfer of local accent on the acquisition of English pronunciation.
