In the 1980's, worldwide researchers pay more attention to teachers' reflection. Many discussions show that reflection can promote teachers' expertise. The implementation of new text book needs the teachers to master higher qualifications. Reflective competence, the most important element of teachers'qualification, is the key component to improve their teaching skills. So the investigation and analysis of teachers' reflection have important meaning to development of teachers'expertise.In this thesis, the author chooses English teachers in junior high schools of Yanbian as study objects. Based on theory and literature research, the author tries to acquire the present situation of English teachers' reflective situation. Analyzes the elements which affect the English teachers' reflective situation and provide effectiveness strategy and methods to promote the teachers' reflective situantion.This thesis uses the ways of literature review, questionnaire survey, math analysis and interviews. The thesis has several main contents:the meaning and features of reflective competence; surveys about reflective situation of junior high school's teachers; Effectiveness strategy and methods about teachers'reflective situation.Based on the survey, the thesis makes the following conclusions:Through the survey, the author find the teachers' reflective situation tend to the general level. There are significant difference among city teachers and rural teachers, head teacher and ordinary teacher, teachers with different titles. In the five dimensions of teachers'reflective situation, technical reflection is prominent, reflection-in and on-action and critical reflection tend to the general level, personalistic reflection and deliberative reflection tend to low level. So personalistic reflection and deliberative reflection are two retarding factors to teachers' reflective situation. The English teachers must strengthen the last two aspects.From the investigation, the problem about English teachers' reflective situation in junior high school of Yanbian are mainly teachers own factors and external environmental factors. For example, teachers' reflection awareness, reflection methods, reflection atmosphere and teacher training. So according to the present situation and influencing factors of teachers' reflective situation,the author provide effectiveness strategy and methods to promote the teachers' reflective situation.
