There are a lot of problems existing as destruction of resources, blind duplicate construction, attaching importance to mess of pottage while ignoring the long-term development in China's tourist industry. As a small city, it is an important research direction for Quanzhou on how to avoid becoming a tourist transit, in particular stand out in attracting visitors from Taiwan and maintain permanent vitality under the competition of Fuzhou and Xiamen in the field of tourism. The paper From the perspective of social memory theory, the paper explains the definition of social memory, analyzes the social functions of social memory. It calls on the urban planners and policy makers to pay more attention to the protection of memory carrier to maintain the sustainable development of tourism when they are mining tourist information and developing tourist market. The paper, with the example of social memory of Taiwan youth to Quanzhou, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of Quanzhou to attract Taiwan youth in terms of using social memory and provides references of the feasibility of tourism development. .Through the methods of documentary analysis, multidisciplinary analysis and field survey, the paper points out the difference of social memory between personal memory and historical memory, analyzes the relationship between social memory and the attractiveness of the tourism market. It takes Quanzhou as a tourist destination and concludes the social memory resources. At the same time, the paper studies the impression of the Taiwan youth who have visited Quanzhou though questionnaire and puts forward the methods and strategy on how to attract Taiwan youth with making use of social memory resources in Quanzhou.The paper is divided into sever chapters. It also puts forward suggestion on the market positioning, product design and marketing strategy Recommendations to attract young Taiwanese tourists.
