Advertising design, as a core curriculum for students who majored in advertising design and making in secondary vocational colleges, is a course with the basic content of advertising design's creativity and expression. It teaches base skills of practical advertisement design and it also has a relatively strong applicability. Nowadays, theoretical teaching method, which has been adopted commonly in teaching experience in secondary vocational colleges, is the way of teachers' teaching and students' learning. Its course content emphasizes on memory and recitation. Teachers give lessons by force-feeding, and ignore to develop students' abilities of practice and creativity. So it is difficult to advance the whole teaching quality of this course, and it departures from the educational objectives of secondary vocational colleges. Item-Teaching, built on the real work in social or enterprises, is the process of teacher's guiding students to decode the project in imitating the real situation, and then to put forward the decision scheme. The concept used in the project"Advertising Design"teaching, attaching great importance to fostering students' abilities of independence, cooperation, exploring, and the students' performances in completing and designing procedure of works, and improving student interests in learning, helps to improve vocational students practical and creative ability and then to enhance the teaching quality of the course of Advertising Design.This study is a project based on basic theory of Item-Teaching. It tries to find the best juncture between Item-Teaching and advertising design teaching, on the basis of analyzing features, significance and current situation about Item-Teaching in this course. Its purpose is to facilitate the effective implement of Item-Teaching in all the course of advertisements design and making in secondary vocational colleges. It can also make students study in interest, and cultivate students' various skills.Firstly, the project introduces the background, research purposes, the importance, and relevant concepts of this issue. And it also presents the research status, research ideas and methods. Secondly, it presents the features and significance of Item-Teaching in the course of advertising design. Thirdly, it summarizes the main problems about curriculum of advertising design in secondary vocational colleges through the methods of questionnaire and other ways. Finally, on the concept of project-based, respectively, from the aspects of principles, requirements, management, evaluation and other aspects, it proposes the basic framework for quality improvement about the course of Advertising Design in secondary vocational schools.
