Research On The Present Situation Of P.E. Undergraduate Major In Jiangsu Province

With the constantly improvement of socialist market economy system in our country, higher education has transformed from elite education to popular education, however, the improvement of educating quality has not kept up with the steps of scale expansion. In view of this, the Ministry of Education promulgated "Quality of Undergraduate Education and Teaching Reform Project" in 2007 with the strategic plan "higher education focused on the educating quality" .This is necessarily has an effect upon physical education which is an important part of higher education. Physical Education major talent training is an important part of teachers training in basic education and full implementation of quality education. Lack of playgrounds, equipments and teachers, even the training objectives can not adapt with the new requirements and the social development, which has become the main restrict factors of the reform and development in physical education major. How to strengthen the compound talent training and improve the quality of physical education talent training has drawn experts and scholars'attention. The economy and education in Jiangsu province is much better than the other province, P.E. major has also been leading the future direction in our country. Therefore, it is important to do this research, looking for the problems and giving some countermeasures.From the view of talent training scheme, resource allocation, teaching quality and graduate employment, this paper has investigated and analyzed the present situation of physical education undergraduate major, the main conclusions are as follows:①The construction quality of physical education undergraduate major in Jiangsu province is in a higher level compared with others in our country;②To adapt to the society for P.E. talents diversified needs, training goal of physical education undergraduate major has been changed from simplification in succession to diversification, but universities and colleges also has the obvious "homogeneous" phenomenon in Jiangsu province;③Curriculum building exists such questions as repeating the old content and imbalance structure , lacking of effective integration between science and the humanities spirit, can not adapt to the needs of the development of the physical education discipline itself and talent training needs;④The age, record of formal schooling and title structure of P.E. teachers in Jiangsu province exist on a fault, optimization of teachers team will be an important task for the construction at the present and in future;⑤Nationally, the talent training quality of Jiangsu provincial physical education undergraduate major in a whole good situation, but there was some defect in the cultivation of the students' comprehensive quality;⑥Inaccurate position of running school, lack of features and outdated employment concept of college students' and other factors causes the current physical education undergraduate major student's employment situation is still severe.In view of the above questions, put forward the following Suggestions:①Strive to promote the physical education undergraduate major connotative development, improve the educational grade, education level and the quality;②Analyze the new historical period needs of physical education undergraduate major in-depth, make clear further professional education target and norms, optimize professional training program;③Universities and colleges should comprehensively consider their own history tradition and school running conditions, strengthening, outstanding advantages, try hard to form their own school-running characteristics;④Change ideas; deepen reform, build a systematic, scientific, and open physical education undergraduate major system;⑤To keep the number of existing professional teachers, optimize the structure of teachers' team, improve teachers' quality;⑥Increase the investment further; improve the hardware facilities, reach higher construction level of school running conditions;⑦Regulate and control the speed of enrollment expansion moderately, explore diversified and innovative talent training mode, improve physical education undergraduate major graduates'social adaptability and employment competitive.
