| As the new generation weather radar network has been constructed and put into use in our country, how to make full use of the massive radar data to serve the administration, construction and weather forecasting is becoming a key issue. In order to survey the severe convective weather correctly and improve the accuracy of weather forecast as well as to get deep understanding to the outstanding property of CINRAD/SB Doppler radar system, this thesis has made a deep analysis to four years operating and maintenance data collected by radar in Yongzhou, then an automatic operating system is designed. In addition, the applications based on historic weather data are also discussed in details. The problems studied in this thesis are listed as following. The operation status and maintenance solution of weather radar are studied, including antenna servo system, radio transmitter and other key components, in order to determine the characteristics of different kinds of failures and troubleshooting methods. Then a database is designed and implemented to keep all kinds of equipment failures. Finally, an automatic operating system is developed to guarantee the normal operation of new generation weather radar system. To take the advantage of now-casting ability of new generation weather radar system, rainfall estimation is discussed in this thesis based on CINRAD/SD radar data. In our simulation, least mean square error rule is adopted to estimate the optimal parameter of ZI model. Simulation results shows the relationship of between Z and I can be represented by Z=158I1.7, which is more accurate compared with general ZI equation. In order to investigate the main factors resulting in severe convective weather, which occasionally occurs in southern part of Hunan Province, and the relationship between weather procedure and radar signal, a lot of parameters are analyzed jointly, such as reflectivity, radial velocity, storm tracking information (STI), hail index (HI), vertical integration of liquid water content (VIL) and the cyclone (M). Two typical weather events are examined to reveal the relation between rainfall level and radar data. One is the hailstorm occurred on April 9,2006, the other one is a supercell happened on April 26,2006 called tropical storm "Bilis". |
