Design And Implementation Of Multimedia Player Box Based On SPMP8000 Platform

With the rapidly development of multimedia chip technology and the increasing of integrated circuit packaging technology, multimedia audio and video codec chip gradually become powerful to deal with more and more formats. Two major areas for application are hand-held and family. Consumer becomes harsher and demands for more features to electronic product. With a view of display output, handheld products of multimedia display screen resolution is up to 800* 600 and screen size is even up to 7-inch. Interface of multimedia electronic device for family is developed to connect to high-definition televisions and projectors. Driven by the market, all the configuration requirements of the embedded system platform are running strong. Thus all kinds of multimedia products derived from embedded system, including Multimedia Player Box mentioned in this article.Multimedia Player Box is a family entertainment electronics product. This product supports rich audio and video formats. The output supports HDMI high-definition output, VGA projectors and AV out. According to the specific needs of client, this project choose SUNPLUS multimedia SPMP8000 platform as a development platform. This platform has the lowest cost and highest performance. Through modifying the user interface, hardware drivers, and operating procedures from original platform, this product meet customer demand at last.SUNPLUS standard platform of SPMP8000 is based on eCos operating system and Microwindows as user interface system. From the perspective of product design, this paper is beginning with the system hardware and software resources. Through a detailed description for framework, client's demands become clear for the product. With SPMP8000 standard platform development environment, existing features and the specific needs of customers, this project analyze the product design that needs to be done and the ultimate goal that need to achieve. Then through the comparison of different implementations, the articles analyze all points and select one of the most suitable ways to achieve the demand for this product. After all the technical points is in a clear realization, this paper is done with a detailed description of product design, including the use of auxiliary tools, user interface implementation and the hardware driver interface design.Through the detail description of Multimedia Player Box development process, this paper is show the normal product's development process and this is the main purpose of this paper. The development process needs to be to go through platform nalysis, specification analysis and detailed design steps. Client's needs analysis and platform analysis are to confirm schedule and workload of this project. Detailed design is the realization of specific programs, including the function optimization and implementation for new features and the quality of testing. Through this paper's expatiation in whole framework and detailed work, we know the work need to do for that Multimedia Player Box is designed from a standard platform to customer need's products.
