Power communication network is basis of dispatching automation, network operating modernization and management modernization, also the important means to ensure safe, steady and economic grid operating. With effective communicating means, the automation of power distribution network can develop fast and rapidly. The basic task of the system is to send control commands accurately from the control center to a number of Remote Terminals, and collect the data that reflects the operating situation of the remote devices to the control center. And with the fast developing power grid, it will also promoting the development of power communication network.WiMAX, which is Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, also known as the 802.16 wireless metropolitan area network is a broadband wireless access technology. The technology adopts OFDM as the physical layer modulation and access methods. The distance of WIMAX wireless signal transmission can be far as 50 kilometers, and its network coverage is 10 times of 3G base station, and on efficiency of using spectrum is also significantly better than 3G technology. It is developing rapidly and will play an important role in the wireless metropolitan area network.This article introduced the basic concepts, development status and technical characteristics of the communication system, presented to use WIMAX system as a new wireless broadband communications technology applying in network communication, analysis the characteristics and current station of WIMAX technology in theory. The writer established WIMAX physical layer model and described functions of different parts of the model in detail. Also, in the whole WIMAX physical layer model refers to the key technologies such as RS code, convolutional encoding, interleaving and modulation(QPSK,16QAM,64QAM),(â… )FFT.On the basis of the modeling in the article, use Simulink,a kind of simulation software, established transmitter and receiver model and described every part in detail. According to the model introduced the parameters settings. It designed a system test program and simulated then presented the result of simulation output by curve and made compare analysis on it.
