With the rapid development of modern networks, network data is growing at an unprecedented rate, and the scale of data center is expanding at an alarming rate. Today's data centers are typically constituted by Ethernet,Local Area Network,Storage Area Networks and other independent networks.In this way, data center construction cost will not only expensive, and greatly increased the management costs and complexity. Fibre channel can be mapped to the Ethernet by the FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet) technology. And the technology can transmit SAN (Storage Area Networks) data over Ethernet, which by I/O Consolidation and Unified Fabric to achieve the integration of data center network architecture.The emergence of FCoE achieve traditional LAN and storage area network to a unified network. In fabric mode, each switch that joins a SAN is assigned a domain ID. Each SAN (or VSAN) supports a maximum of 239 domain IDs, so the SAN has a limit of 239 switches. In a SAN topology with a large number of edge switches, the SAN may need to grow beyond this limit. NPV mode alleviates the domain ID limit by sharing the domain ID of the core switch among multiple edge switches.In NPV mode, the edge switch relays all traffic from server-side ports to the core switch. The edge switch shares the domain ID of the core switch. An NP uplink is a connection from an NP port on the edge switch to an F port on the core switch. Server interfaces are F ports on the edge switch that connect to the servers. The core switch provides F port functionality and all the Fibre Channel switching capabilities. The edge switch appears as a Fibre Channel host switch to the core switch and as a regular Fibre Channel switch to its connected devices.This paper analyzes related functions of FCoE switch system in the NPV mode, describing focused on design and implementation of traffic management module in switching system.Firstly, this paper details the requirement analysis of the traffic management function, defines the design and implementation of traffic mapping and traffic maps flashing to the forwarding table functions, including the data structure used in the entire development procedure and each function of module. Secondly, after the encoding procedure, according to the design of test cases, the unit testing and system testing verify the correctness of module design and implementation.
