| Distance education is an effective means of continuing education, which smaller by time and space when compared to the traditional forms of education, more suitable for in-service learning and self-improvement. But the experimental teaching is always a problem for distance education. With the rapid development of the computer and network technology, means of distance education to enrich, the virtual experiment which using virtual reality technology become one of solutions. As the technology of virtual experiments and theory is still evolving, the study on virtual experiments have their own tendencies so that is not suitable for the Radio and Television University Teaching System of China. The Experiment Centre of Beijing Radio and Television University have applied research related to virtual experiments for their own virtual experiment system. This paper studied the use of existing Web3D technology and chose a typical computer network experiment to achieve a virtual experiment system, And for the basis of development of common virtual experiment system for the future. This paper has collected information and Web3D technologies for analysis and comparison. Existing Web3D software and solutions were also been analyzed contrast, given the selected technical solution. According to the computer networking experiment that been chosen in the research, this paper described the contents of virtual experiment and how to achieve it, Also gived the detail of methods and processes in development of the virtual experiment system, which using WireFusion. In the research process for the difficult problems encountered, for example, collision detection mechanism is not perfect, delays caused by network bandwidth is too large etc. In this paper, after more people, more locations, under different conditions, a large number of tests and experiments, combined analysis of experimental results, expand the discussion, the solution is given. This paper have also given reasonable image compression solutions of how to control the file size of the system. The research developed a virtual experiment system at last. After the actual test, users can access the system and experimental operations via the Internet. |
