Design Of An Open Digital Library System Model Based On PKI

With the increasing development of electronic information technology, the Internet is rapidly changing people's work, life and way of study, which has brought an unprecedented convenience to the development of society and people's life.Through the internet technology, Digital Library [1] technology has been achived its development in recent ten years. the Digital and Library resource sharing haves become an inevitable trend of the development of the Library. However, in the protection of its own business interests, the library information resources inevitably limit the full use of Shared resources. For example,the development of library resource sharing among the libraries is rising slowly, causing the serious waste of information resources.In order to guarantee the library itself commercial interests and fully enhance the digital resource utilization, to establish a set of safety systems in open network environment is needed. But Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology has its features, including information security,completeness,identification,noreputiation,and access control characteristics, it is the important technical means to solve this problem,and is widely used in safety fields,such as electronic business, E-mail security,and so on.The essay is aiming for solving these problems,and puts forward a set of the open library system that rely on PKI technology,which based on university library alliance.The essay firstly analyzes the present digital library dilemma, and introduces the advantage of PKI technology to solve this kind of problems.Secondly, the essay introduces the related theory and basic technology of cryptography, the system structure of public key infrastructure (PKI) and the related concept of knowledge.Finally, combined with the needs and characteristics of open digital library, the essay puts forward an open digital library system model which on the basis of CA(Bridge Certificate Authority) trust model. This model not only satisfy each library of its resources management requirements, but also can realize the library resources safe and onvenient sharing among libraries.
