The marine equipment is very important for people to acquaint the marine, develop the marine resource and protect the marine environment. The marine technology and equipment are very important to measure an ocean statue's comprehensive national strength and the scientific technology level nowadays. There are many elements in marine monitoring. The wave is the most basic, important, and the most complex one of them. Therefore, the research and development of wave observation instruments is particularly important. The wave sensor which is researched by the Ocean University of China has been recognized by many marine researches. It not only can be used on micro wave buoy, but also can be used on large marine data buoy. For example, the SZF type wave buoy and the QF201 large marine data buoy which is belonged to the China East Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration. They are all woke well by now.The treatise based on these projects: First, the wave buoy project which is funded by the 863 project. Second, the large marine data buoy which is finished by the Ocean University of China and the China East Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration. This treatise introduces the wave sensor system, and describes the composition of the various components and design principles. It also improved the component's detection method. It includes the programming of software and the design of hardware circuit.In this treatise the wave sensor use the acceleration of gravity theory to measure wave. The wave sensor includes the acquisition system of wave height and incline angle, the acquisition system of buoy direction and the main circuit board. It can measure wave height, wave period and wave direction. The treatise describes the gravity acceleration sensor, the incline angle sensor and the direction sensors'type, woke. It introduces the system components and the data procession in the main circuit board.The detection method play a very important role to measure the wave sensor is bad or not. The treatise based on the old methods, and makes a great improve. We digitizing the analog signal when detection the acquisition system of wave height and incline angle. As a result, we can use the computer to draw real-time wave height curve. We use the VC++ and MATLAB to program the software. We use fixed value method to reduce the system error when the acquisition system of buoy direction. The software depend the COMM controller to process and store data. Then, we use the MATLAB to process data and generate the insert table program code. We write the program to the MCU. The treatise introduces the detection method of the whole wave sensor.We can prove these detection methods are feasible and practical. It can detect the wave sensor well or not and improve the performance of wave sensor. They are already in use now.
