Research On Service Discovery In MANET

MANET is a new kind of wireless self-organizing networks. It isn't restricted by fixed telecommunication infrastructure. Characteristics of it are flexible network, dynamic topology and limited resources. Because MANET is applying in all fields widely and provides more and more services. How to design a mechanism to manage these services efficient and discover the services fast to meet different needs of users is a key of improving the MANET's performance. In recent years, the researches of MANET service discovery focus on the network layer, but these studies only combine service discovery with different routing protocols, without considering the stability and efficiency of service in the process of the service discovery, both of which are the key point of evaluating MANET service quality. In the other way, the adaptive routing has become an important part in the research on MANET network layer, but there are a few specialized protocols about adaptive service discovery in network layer. Therefore, to improve the stability and efficiency of service discovery, this thesis researches the adaptive of service discovery in network layer.First, the feasibility and advantage of cross-layer design in MANET and several typical related protocols are analyzed, then the structure of MANET and TCP/IP is comparative studied, the development of network structure is proposed.Second, the principle of the existing ZRP service discovery protocol is analyzed and its shortcomings is concluded, a strategy of adaptive services discovery zone protocol (ASDZP) is proposed with the idea of adaptive routing, This strategy meet the requirements of service discovery. Results of the formulas indicated the strategy has smaller maintains energy consumption than traditional services discovery in ZRP.Third, the path of service discovery in the ZRP service discovery protocol is realized based on AODV service discovery protocol. To improve the stability and efficiency of service discovery path in ASDZP, characteristics of AODV service discovery protocol are analyzed, this method focuses on the adaptive path of service discovery and service selection.Last, the simulation model on the platform of NS2 network simulation is established. The reason of experiment is influenced by the stability-factor of node is concluded. The many performance indicators of adaptive services discovery zone is analyzed compare with ZRP service discovery and AODV service discovery respectively. Results of the simulation indicated the various performance indicators of ASDZP are superior to traditional services discovery in ZRPand AODV, it meets the target of improving efficiency and stability of the service discovery.
