| With the rapid development of digital technology (information technology) and diversification of the audience, digital publishing and some other new publishing formats is entering into high-speed development period. In America,some large publishing groups have been basically completed the digital transition, and formed some mature business models. Chinese digital publishing industry also develops very fast. Because of lacking a truly persuasive business model,which is good for the overall development of the publishing industry keeping long-term stability, traditional publishers'digital transition process is slow. Management guru Peter Drucker said, the competition among enterprises is not product but the business model. In China,digital publishing enterprises have been exporing business models, but no one has created a unique business model which can truly continue to profit. Many companies chose to copy or imitate the foreign mature business model. In 2008, the Amazon Kindle achieved great success in the public e-book market, people also have confidence on the e-book market. Apple, Google, Barnes & Noble bookstores in America, and the domestic grand of Founder, HW, China Mobile, even as the Shanghai Century Publishing Group also have set foot into the E-book business and formed a number of new digital publishing business models. In this context, the comparative analysis of the representative digital publishing business model between China and America as an example of e-book has important practical significance and practical value.Based on the elements of business models,combining the characteristics of digital publishing, this paper divided the digital publishing business model into four modules, including strategic position, business networks,core resources, profit model. Then built up the comparative framework of the digital publishing business model between China and America. The industrial environment is also an important factors in the framwork. The full text have seven chapters.The first two chapters are the basic sections, mainly introducing the research status at home and abroad and related theory; Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 introduced and analyzed eight representative kinds of e-book business modes in China and America, including the Amazon Kindle models, Apple iPad mode, Google digital library model, the phone reading mode of China Mobile, Shengda literary model, Founder mode, HW mode, and the Shanghai Century Publishing Group eBook mode; Chapters 5 and Chapter 6 are the focus chapters in the full-text. Compared and analyzed the digital publishing business model between China and America, and proposed some suggestions for improving the Chinese digital publishing business model.We can see that the Chinese digital publishing business exist some probloms by comparison. Such as their strategic position is not clear, their products and services lack of differentiation and their profit model is single.At last, Put forward some suggestions about strategic positioning and profit models. |
