With the rapid development of mobile communication network and hardware equipments, mobile phones'functions have become more and more formidable. Richly colorful handset applications have gradually entered people's life along with which smart phone operating systems arises at the historic moment. The new generation of intelligent handset operating systems, like Android System has had enormous impact on traditional handsets as well as the old generation of intelligent systems.This article has made an contrastive analysis on the present main intelligent handset operating systems like Apple Company's IOS System, Nokia's Symbian System, Google Corporation's Android System, Microsoft Corporation's Windows Phone 7 System, which points out the respective advantages and disadvantages. According to intelligence handset's map application, this article points out that the traditional embedded map software development is not only difficult but also time-consuming, whereas the WEB map development based on Android System is relatively much more simple.This article first carries on the in-depth analysis to Android System's structure, systematical summarization of the core API packages in Android System, and detailed description of essential concepts in Android System operating environment such as Activity, Intent, etc. Second, it introduces the construction process of Android System development environment and makes a brief analysis to this development platform. Based on all these, the article will also introduce application development procedures and analyze a standard Android application procedure of its architecture, documents composition, basic modules, data storage operation and so on. Then, the article designs a personal map application which can record user walking trajectory combining with Google Map provided by Google Corporation and corresponding API libraries. The application can track user mobile trajectory, monitor and record these tracks, and finally show them in Google Map at any time. This procedure also supports the SQLite database function, may let the user convenient change establishment parameter, supports the historical data the inquiry function and so on.The last chapter realizes this procedure in the design foundation. Through the Android simulator's confirmation, the result display sequence function meets the design requirement completely.
