| A giant iron and steel enterprise (GISE) needs to build an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platform between its partners and itself in order to reach the aim of resource integration, information sharing and enterprise collaboration from upstream to downstream. EDI technology can improve the information lag of enterprise, simplify business process, reduce cost, increase competitive power and enhance the corporations of two sides. Because the implementation of EDI service has many different modes and the EDI standards are varied, appropriate and expansible standard should be chosen as well as platform structure.The focus of this paper is on the construction of EDI platform for GISE. In the paper, the overall implementation procedures is provided, as well as architecture and function modules of EDI platform through analyzing and summarizing the characters of electronic data exchange of GISE. According to characters and actual demand, ebBPSS, CPP/CPA, ebMS and PIPs of RosettaNet are used as technical Specification of the EDI platform. The paper advanced implementation steps using development tools including Business Process modeling, generating Business Process Specification, generating CPP/CPA, EDI message mapping, WPG Configuration. How to implement security mechanisms into EDI platform based on its security architecture is also analyzed. Security mechanisms of the EDI platform include security solution of applications, security of ebXML message server. At last, a case exchanging electronic data between WISCO and a roll supplier is designed using preceding implementation steps.Because of the high degree of informatization and complexity of its organization and business process, it is very difficult to implement EDI platform in a GISE. Scientific implementing plan must be designed according actual demands and conditions. This paper has provided important reference for the implementation of similar EDI platforms. |
