At present, satellite communication system is developing rapidly, which is the best microwave transit communication system. The communication services it provide didn't be affect by geographical conditions and weather conditions, have a wide range of applications on the field of disaster relief and rescue, emergency command, and border guards. At the same time it has the features of better anti-destruction, higher stability, wider coverage so that other terrestrial communication systems can not match. The development of satellite communication in our country is far behind other countries and Technology is also backward. Satellite communication systems and the corresponding communication terminals with independent intellectual property rights are relatively scarce. Therefore, based on national defense and modernization and many other considerations, independent research our own satellite communications system and the corresponding communication terminal is extremely important.Satellite communication terminal is the carrier of services which satellite systems provide to users, which is moving to the direction of small, intelligent. The main results of this paper are as follow: through the analysis and study of satellite communication systems and the corresponding signaling interaction process between the terminal and the working state of terminal system, combined with the principles and ideas of software engineering, design and implement the digital satellite platform software of Satellite communication handheld based on embedded WinCE operating systems, including network control interface protocol software and display and control software. During the designing process of software, using the Model-View-Control ideas, separate the data processing and data display, using an event message mechanism which WinCE provides as a bridge, and designed a function of user-defined message processing, passed the data which received by protocol module by message transmit. achieve the results of low coupling. During the design and implementation of the graphical interface, through finding relevant information, solve to the embedded graphics interface flash interface development issues by using the methods of double buffer to draw the background. At the same time, combined with the popular T9 Pinyin input method to design the input method module, adjust and optimize the font sorting and data structures to complete the input mode function modules based on two ways to input: pinyin and stroke, so that the hand-held terminal can be used to achieve the input of Chinese characters.At last, after the modules test and the complete machine test, software features points of the satellite handheld terminal are available, the interface jump smoothly, and the protocol module can receive and parse the correct format for various types of signaling, and also has a certain throughput, overall, the performance can meet customers'requirements.
