Wifi-based Design Of Embedded Video Monitoring System

Recently, video monitoring technology has received a rapid development with the evolution of computer technology and electronic technology and people's enhancement of a sense of security. Especially, the growth of the multimedia processing technology, video image compression technology and the network communication technology makes an important influence on the development and application of the video monitoring technology in light of the technology and the utilization. The network technology and the computer technology have been blended together, which make the video monitoring technology enter a fast developing of digital and network era. Moreover, it will move towards the embedded mode, which attributes to the characteristics of its low power consumption, small size, economy and stableness and to the soaring expansion of the embedded technology.In this paper, the embedded microprocessor S3C6410 is set as a development platform for the major hardware, the embedded Linux operating system for the software. Then through the process of transplantation, the embedded Linux operating system can also function well in the opening panel. Afterwards, the data collection of the video as well as the function of coding and transmission in the streaming media server can be completed through the use of video capture technology on the camera, the JPEG image coding technology and the TCP/IP protocol data transmission technology. The thesis employs the simple embedded Web server to accomplish the monitoring and browsing control of the web, and through the wifi module, the wireless connection of the video monitoring terminal and the internet can be realized as well as the users'video display in the B/S mode can be. In this paper, the embedded video monitoring system is finally build, which is characterized by good sense of reality, smoothness of video, small size, low power consumption and convenience of installment and so forth.
