| This study observed two teams of editorial department and publishing center of Touch Youth , together with interview and questionnaire, in the perspectives of medial richness theory, communication satisfaction theory, and team work theory, to examine the impact of three new media both in the self-management team and in functional team, which include the text-voice format such as MSN,QQ, voice format such as telephone and mobile phone, and text message format such as SMS, on the satisfaction of team communication and cooperation performance, and then further make comparisons among them.Based on observation, this work made conclusions as follows: Firstly, all of three communication forms can improve the communication satisfaction in different teams. In the self-management team, the msn and QQ chat tools and voice chat by mobile phone have better satisfaction of communication than text message by mobile phone. In the functional team, voice chats by mobile phone and telephone have higher level of satisfaction of communication. Secondly, all of three communication types have significant influence on the performance of cooperation in different teams. In the self-management team, the msn and QQ chat tools have stronger impact on performance of communication than mobile phone and telephone which has stronger influence on performance of communication than text message of mobile phone. In the functional team, voice chats by mobile phone and telephone have stronger influence on performance of communication than msn and QQ chat tools and message by mobile phone. Thirdly, the satisfaction of communication has positive influence on the performance of cooperation in both teams. Fourthly, the same type of communication has different influence both on the communication satisfaction and on communication performance.This research concluded as follows: Firstly, in terms of usage of new media, we should select the type of communication based on the characteristics of new communication media and the features and types of team. Secondly, Each team can make their strength through the new media's, which to supply the different types of new media integrated. Thirdly, both of two teams should make efforts to improve the satisfaction of communication among members of teams in order to make the performance of cooperation better. This case study should be expected to promote the improvement of team management and performance of Touch Youth, which should provide useful reference of other team's practice of management. |
