Embedded Linux-based System Network Analyzer And Its Implementation

In the information society, computer network has penetrated into every aspect of our life; people say that we can not get away from the network for one minute. As the base for training engineering staffs and researchers in computer networks, Universities always take the Computer Networks as the core curriculum for the majors of computer, Communication and Other Subjects Allied to them. The key to learn Computer Networks is the networking protocols; it unaffectedly becomes the centerpiece in network teaching. So it will improve the teaching effect if we design an analyzer to analysis the networking protocols in every layer and to count the networking data.Combining the embedded systems, the design and research of the networking protocol analyzer is given in this paper. According to demand analysis and the computer network teaching courses content.the development environment is built for the host and the board. A brief introduction for TCP/IP protocol stack is given too. Reference to the OSI standard, the analyzer is designed in layers. The detailed design and the development steps of each model are given in the data link layer, network layer, the transport layer and so on. Moreover, the key technology relative to the analyzer is introduced in this paper. Because of the limits of 802.11x protocol, the driver model of USB warless network interface is discussed and the driver is modified as demand. Completing the network layer protocol packet capture,analysis and show.In order to test the performance of the analyzer, the testing environment is built. The testing results show that the analyzer can analysis each protocol of TCP/IP stack successfully, display the protocol data correctly and give the curve charts of the total flow and the out flow.
