Along with the coming of the informaitionization, the rapid development of the computer technology and the network communication technology brings the information's explosive growth around the whole world and the information transfer becomes more convient. The distance learning born from this can share the globle study sources and enrich them further. Accompany with the developmet of the related research and application, a number of research institutions and technology enterprises throw them into the research and exploitation of the online teaching system and related software. Meanwhile, they provide various online courses services and formulate the online teaching standards for the online teaching applicaion's constant advancement.However, the current distance learning systems still have some disadvantages: (1) they are usually on the level of teaching source presenting, and teaching interaction is considered insufficient; (2) since the users distribute everywhere, there're many different firewalls and proxy servers between clients and server, or different distance learning platform is developed by different technique, so that it needs different OS and soft environment to support. Thus, it is very difficult to resolve these problems by the traditional developmet technology.Therefore, the thesis considerd the problems mentioned before synthetically, and researched and designed a platform crossed online distance learning system using WCF as framework based on the Web Service. The system will be better in the aspects of open, interaction, crossing platform and expansibility, and also good at reusing of data and alpplications. Futermore, it can shorten the development cycle effectively, reducing code's complexity and improving the maintainability of the application programs.
