There has been, in recent years, an appreciably slowing down on the growing profit of voice services and low-profit period is emerging. Such being the situation, service transformation becomes urgent in communication industry and the development of non-voice service has taken its priority. With voice services filling to capacity, data service is a field with great opening and potential. After years of development, ordinary data service encountered the choke point due to the growing demands of its clients. Meanwhile, professional users appeared and have gradually become the groups with large consumption. Service integrators (SI) have seized this opportunity and got profit from paid services. Enterprises, users and service integrators have large demands for short message services. There must be complete and reliable system guaranteeing the mature development. It is of practical and economical significance to design and build a Short Message Gateway II that is convenient in connection and quick in procession.Short Message Gateway II application platform serves the service integrators with short message access and provides the corporate customers with instant short messages transferring. Users can get access via CMPP3.0 protocol and HTTP+XML protocol. They can get served through Short Message Gateway II instead of going to the mobile company to open accounts. It is convenient especially for the small enterprises, which are lack in technologies and resources, to transfer short messages via HTTP protocol.This thesis briefly introduces short message CMPP and makes a deep research on the technologies concerning Short Message Gateway II application platform. It mainly discusses the system structure of CMPP, the definition of message, and the protocol flow from the perspective of software modulization and program realization. The thesis puts forward the core thoughts on the Short Message Gateway II application platform and modulized design methods, in which the platform framework and each function module are introduced. It also makes analysis and designing on the procedure flow of the platform. The thesis elaborates on the principle and method of high-performance framework of nonblocking communication MINA.The research product has already been applied in business and the system has been working steadily so far in China Mobile.
