With the development of information technology, the future of library information and resources construction will focus on the digital resources.The construction about all kinds of digital resources will be deployed in the library,and construction about characteristic resources which can satisfy the individual demand will become more and more prominent.ShenYang Aerospace University is a comprehensive university with its strength in aerospace science.The great development of aerospace science and education can not go on without the support of information resources.So the establishment of characteristic database about aerospace provides a powerful information platform for the development of aerospace science and education.This paper associated with the establishment of aerospace project database,made a deep discussion on significance of structuring the characteristic database.Meanwhile,it surveys domestic and international aerospace information resources and analyses the result. We can get extensive experience on the construction of database on aerospace subject. This paper emphasizes on the process of constructing the subject database. First, the author expounds the orientation of the subject database and points out the basic principles.Second,the author put forward a feasible scheme for the construction of the aerospace database according to the practical experience.This project includes the feature of introducing TPI system platform, function and structure of the system, software and hardware configuration and the system structure of aerospace special database; using TPI to build database guide to create special subject database; making data acquisition full, accurate and new, strengthening cooperation and collecting documents by all kinds of means; using scanning and OCR information technology to complete data conversion and carry out necessary data form conversion; doing a good subject indexing is the key of data indexing and in the course of indexing depth, consistency and concept transformation should be paid attention; data classification should base on document subjects and content range connecting with the relative node in project guide tree so as to search this record through project classification guide tree for users; the purpose of data check is to find the problem in the course of indexing in order to guarantee the indexing quality; data releasing could adopt different styles of releasing formwork and also could establish personalized releasing based on database field; finally database should be maintained, updated and managed timely to ensure the database quality.The research of this subject has guiding and promoting value to the construction of characteristic database in various disciplines.According to the establishment of characteristic database on aerospace,it shows the application of characteristic database publication which presented by TPI platform.In a word,a referenced pattern could be provided to build any characteristic database in other areas.
