As the development of millimeter wave technology, hybrid microwave integrated circuit (HMIC) and mechanical processing design, the realization of microwave equipments needs microminiaturization,high integration and precision processing. The developing trend of microwave and millimeter wave circuit is waveguide circuit→HMIC→MMCM→MMIC. While system on chip is the domestic and foreign research hotspots and has been made some progress, product realization at millimeter frequency is still a long way to go. The MMIC product technique of single device has already been mature and performance-to-price ratio is relatively higher. In order to increase the reliability, shorten the develop period and increase performance-to-price ratio, the research emphases of millimeter wave transmission and receiver(T/R) system are put on the selection of domestic and foreign MMIC chip, the proper scheme and research of novel and high performance index of passive circuit such as waveguide-to-microstrip transition, filter etc. The sensitivity of receiver module is determined by noise coefficient for the receive channel of T/R modules. Therefore how to realize low loss and wide band transition between rectangular waveguide and microstrip becomes the important research of microwave and millimeter wave field.Chapter 1 introduces the domestic and international development of waveguide-microstrip transition,the electrical specifications, the implementation sheme and the study contents of this paper.Chapter 2 presents the theoretical basis of rectangular waveguide-microstrip transition.and the proposation of novel rectangular waveguide-microstrip transition circuit.Chapter 3 introduces the advanced electromagnetic simulation software CST used in this paper.Chapter 4 mainly research the novel millimeter-wave rectangular waveguide-microstrip transition cuicirt based on the principle of magnetic field coupling, the test and improvement of this cuicirt.Chapter 5 is concerned with the application of this novel waveguide-microstrip transition circuit in Ka band T/R module. In this chapter, the primary design proposal of Ka band T/R module is presented; the passive circuits designing including filter, power divider is accomplished; the working principle of the active device in detail including the amplifier, the mixer and the switch is described; then the technical information of the MMIC used in T/R module is introduced.Chapter 6 introduces the assembling, debugging and testing of the Ka band T/R module.The test result shows that the novel rectangular waveguide-microstrip transition circuit and Ka band T/R module meets the design requirement and has some practical value.
