"Informatization, electronics and automation" has become the key point to restrict our combat effectiveness. At present, our army has been in a critical time of developing from mechanization to informatization. As all kinds of high-tech equipment having been equipped one after another, equipment maintenance and management's being more complex, and the doubling amount of information involving various aspects, these make it more and more difficult for the grass-roots to finish the maintenance work. The Management Information System for the Army's General Vehicle Equipment Maintenance is made in such a context. It changes the booking status of the current management of vehicle equipment maintenance, and meets the request of the grass-roots, which is faster, more efficient, and more sustainable equipment management. And it also finds an entry points for how to achieve the informatization of equipment management.This thesis combines the actual maintenance management work of grass-roots units below group army and sets the non-wartime general vehicle maintenance management as the main line. It conducts the system requirement analysis related to this work by using the method of use-case modeling. Based on the C/S three-layer network architecture, C# programming language, Visual Studio.NET 2008 as head development tool, SQL Server 2005 as backstage database, and ADO.NET technology for database accessing, the writer design and realize the Management Information System for the Army's General Vehicle Equipment Maintenance. The system contains four function modules:basic information management, vehicle equipment management, maintenance management and maintenance device management.
