Monosodium glutamate is commonly used as a condiment in human life. At present, the technological level of domestic production of monosodium glutamate, depend largely on the experience of the operator for production control of the production process, but as monosodium glutamate production process became more complex, more and more continuous mass production, the temperature, the PH value and the dissolved oxygen concentrations in the fermentation process need for online measurement and control. At the same time, these parameters are highly nonlinear, time-varying and time-delaying, which make the fermentation process control to be become more complex.Monosodium glutamate production process is divided into four process stages of sugar, fermentation, extraction and refining, and the glutamic acid fermentation is the most important aspect. The temperature control, PH control, dissolved oxygen control and elimination foam control are required to understand the various parameters of the control requirements during the fermentation. Because the higher enhanced control requirements and the more controlled and executed points, using the distributed control system (DCS) control can achieve centralized control and management, which not only greatly improves the level of automation, but also makes the product quality, yield and economy of production process are improved. In this paper, using the Siemens SIMATIC PCS7 control system platform to design, operate and manage the entire monosodium glutamate production process. The system consists of automation stations, engineer stations and operator stations, automation stations to achieve the underlying actuator connected with the site, engineer stations to achieve the program design according to the requirements of process, the operator stations to achieve the upper remote monitoring and control. The entire system is orderly distribution and overall integration from bottom to top.On this basis, the paper focuses on the design and realization of the fuzzy adaptive PID controller. In view of the traditional PID cannot meet the requirements of the complex parameter control, but the algorithm is simple, strong adaptability and robustness. And fuzzy control, one of intelligent control technology, does not require precise mathematical model and have the wide applicability, but the algorithm is more complex. So combination both of each other can form a fuzzy adaptive PID controller, we can better meet the requirements. This paper designs and realizes the monosodium glutamate production process control based on fuzzy adaptive PID controller. First of all, use Matlab/Simulink to study parameter simulation, and obtain the fuzzy control query table of parameters; and then use the SCL language (PCS7 function block development language) in the SIMATIC PCS7 control system platform to program and develop a fuzzy adaptive PID function block, which is used in PCS7 application development; Finally, use SIMATIC simulation software PLCSIM to simulate and compare the control performance between fuzzy adaptive PID block and traditional PID block. The fuzzy adaptive PID function block has been applied to the actual production process. The single-loop test results show that the function block achieves a good control effect.
