| Gas cylinder accidents have repeatedly occurred in recent years, causing serious damage to human life and property. It becomes particularly important to strengthen supervision of the gas cylinders. In order to improve the gas cylinders management level, advanced techniques must be used. As a new technology, RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology can achieve digitized cylinders management and improve management level.After expounding the RFID technology, this paper designs a handheld RFID reader utilized in gas cylinders management, according to the requirements of the cylinder management application. This paper highlights the hardware design and programme design, and discusses some critical issues.The RFID reader's hardware includes power management part, MCU part, human-machine interface part, memory part, serialport communication part, SAM card part and the RFID module. The RFID reader's programme design includes the RFID module, human-machine interface part, data storage part and RS232 serial communication part. The paper also discusses critical issues such as data security, explosion-proof performance and power consumption control, and proposes the corresponding solutions.Test results of the RFID reader show that it comples with the the design requirements. This reader can read and write tags which comply with the ISO/IEC 15693 standard, and have good performance in recognition distance and accuracy rate. The power consumption is also within an acceptable range. The reader has friendly human-machine interface, data storage and data uploading functions. The reader's functions and performances have reached the requirements of gas cylinders management application. |
