With the development of information technology and industrial control system, the demand ofthe network access for the traditional embedded devices is increasingly high. The thesis uses themini TCP/IP protocol stack uIP based on Digital Signal Processor(DSP) in order to realize a kind offunction of the embedded system accessing to network.At the beginning of the thesis, it sets up a hardware platform which is mainly based on DSPembedded system accessing to ethernet, expatiates the functional module of portablecommunication system, and explains one by one for all parts of the firmware realizing blockdiagram according to important module in the embedded system. It chooses low-power,high-property 16-bit fixed DSP chip TMS320VC5510 as the microprocessor, uses a matureCS8900A ethernet controller chip as the network interface, and builds a network access firmwareenvironment for DSP chip.Then the thesis makes some cutting of the light open-source TCP/IP uIP stack, successfullytransplanting it to the DSP embedded system, in the same time it gives design methodology ofdevice program for CS8900A ethernet controller chip.What's more, during the precept for ethernet communication as a speed of 10M bits based onDSP system in this paper, the terminal of DSP is mainly responsible for the function ofmanipulating the ethernet controller directly, controls with programming for all kinds of registers inCS8900A chip, and transmits and receives packets on the ethernet through uIP stack.At the end of this paper, it puts the designing method into portable communication detectionsystem, discusses a variety of uIP stack suitable for the system, and the realization of networkcommunication for the DSP-based embedded platform is varified through testing, besides analyzesthe testing result. The result shows that the architecture of uIP stack can basically meet therequirement of Ethernet accessing, and completes the communication function between theembedded system and network equipment.
