Along with the rapid development of logistics industry,Information industry and a application of the RFID technology , RFID Reader Antenna system has become more and more attention of scholars .Because of RFID system multiple band characteristics, Dual-band and multi-frequency RFID antenna has became a research hotspot.In the context of this application, this thesis designed two RFID antennas which work in the 2.45GHz and 5.8GHz individually firstly. On this basis, a dual-band RFID reader antenna with a single patch on the top layer with slots on the radiating edges and operation on the free ISM bands of 2.45GHz and 5.8GHz is designed. these antenna has a dimension of 29mm ? 29mm and compact appearance ,a good impedance bandwidth from 2.385 to 2.52GHz for the lower band and from 2.385 to 2.52GHz for the upper band. the antenna shows stable radiation characteristics. Furthermore, a deeply parametric research for the relationship between the resonance frequencies and different parameters is analysed. a good foundation for future antenna design is laid.
