A Study On Scientific Research Of Competitive Intelligence Services In University Library

In the Second half of the20th Century, with the advent of social information and knowledge economy era, the scientific research shows the increasingly important role in the military, political, economic, cultural and other fields. The consciousness of research information from all walks of life is increasingly enhanced, the theory and methods of the SRCI (Scientific Research of Competitive Intelligence) were introduced to scientific research and related fields, that becomes an important supports and long-term strategic asset for the research work, and even national, organizational, and development of individual comprehensive strength. The university is an important base for national scientific research, the theory and methods of the SRCI are introduced to the universities, and provide the SRCIS (Scientific Research of Competitive Intelligence Services) by the university library, what is an important significance for enhancing the university's scientific research competitiveness and comprehensive strength. In view of the above background, the author did a depth discussion about the SRCIS in the university library.The main body of this paper is constituted by three parts:The first part (Chapters1-2):The basic problems of the SRCI and SRCIS were discussed in this paper. First, this paper research background and present situation were discussed; the author putted forward the contents and ideas of this paper; And cleared the purpose and significance of this paper; And then discussed the theme of this paper------some of basic questions about the SRCI and SRCIS, Including:The concept and connotation of the SRCI; The connotation and characteristics and role of the SRCIS; The significance, principles and guiding ideology and so on of carrying out the SRCIS.The second part (Chapters3-5):The author did an analysis of the present situation and significance about carrying out the SRCIS in the university library. First, this paper explored the meaning of the SRCI from the contents and characteristics of the university research activities to start, and analyzed an important role and advantages of carrying out the SRCI in university library from a theoretical point of view. Second, to the scientific researchers of KMUST (Kunming University of Science and Technology) as an investigation object, analyzed to carry out the significance of the SRCIS in the university library from the objective demand of the university scientific researchers to the CIS(Competitive Intelligence Services) point. Finally, basing on the above understanding, the author carried out an investigation to the78university library website with the Ministry of Education's novelty search qualification, and analyzed the current situation and the main problems of these university library's SRCIS.The third part (Chapters6-8):The basic idea and methods and implementations of carrying out the SRCIS in the university library. First, the author putted forward the basic idea of the university library's SRCIS; Second, from the three aspects of the service business, technical measures, and management, discussed the basic methods of the university library SRCIS; Finally, to the KMUST' library as an example, discussed the implementation scheme of the university library's SRCIS.In this paper, the author used some of the basic method in the course of the study, such as the statistical analysis, case study, summarized, modeling and so on. And more systematically combed to the basic issues of the SRCIS and proposed some of the basic idea, the basic approach and suggested program of the university library's SRCIS. It is a certain theoretical thinking, the reference significance in methods and experience for the theory and practical application of research in this field.
