It is an urgent requirement and inevitable trend to conduct digital research for underground military information project development. It is also a very complex and novelty subject. Strata and underground military roadway as space targets of an underground military project occupy a very important position in the construction and management of the whole project. Using modern computer technology to build their3D model is the main contents of the digital underground military project. On the basis of existing measurement information and geological data of underground military project, it constructs three-dimensional visual model of the project, which visually shows the relationship of the roadway and strata. It has great significance to analyze the spatial relationship of the underground military project, to guide construction correctly and to improve the accuracy and rationality of the design. For these reasons, on the basis of previous studies, this paper studies the three-dimensional modeling techniques of the digital underground military project, Strata3D model,3D model of the underground military roadway, and3D visualization. The main works as follow:1, It introduces the recent condition and development direction of the digital underground military project explicitly. It illustrates the importance of the3D visualization modeling to the development of underground military project and analyzes domestic and foreign commonly use3D data model, which describes representative model.2, According to the actual stratigraphic distribution characteristics, the paper uses the TIN form of multi-storey DEMs to build3D models of simple layered strata. It has studied current TIN generation method to build a single-layer TIN based on incremental insertion. Using the method of suture the upper and lower strata interface outer boundary, it builds three-dimensional model for a simple layered strata.3, Following the characteristics of the underground military roadway, it cuts the roadway network in order to reduce the difficulty of build the roadway model.The complex roadway is divided into two parts:simple tunnel body and intersection body. Using object-oriented method, it design smoothing algorithms of roadway curved section and modeling algorithms of roadway intersection. The method inserts rotated sections on joints, generating curved roadway model and smoothing the junctions at the same time. Coping with this difficulty of intersection, the study presents a new modeling methods based on the half-section. Inserted zoom half-section on intersections, it ensures the seamless of laneway joints and reduce the complexity of the algorithm as well.4, To solve the intersection problem of the primary and secondary roadway, it established a hierarchical network topology of the roadway, to decompose the main roadway model. It also adds zoom-processing sub-roadway data to build different levels of roadway intersection model. Studied the connection problems of different section parameters roadway has been studied, it renders a method to build connect modeling of such roadway.5, With Windows XP as the platform, C#and the Arcgis Engine as the development tools, the three-dimensional visual modeling of ground and underground military roadway is developed. In order to solve the problem of the roaming deviate from the roadway at curved section, it realizes3D underground military roadway automatic cruise through smoothing the roaming path. On the basis of the stratigraphic model and underground military tunnel model, it uses Arcgis Engine to provide spatial analysis function; there is a preliminary study on the security warning and interaction design of the underground military project. And it conducts an application in an underground military project to verify the practicality and effectiveness of the research.
