As the problem of Population Aging deteriorates, empty-nesters are increasing every year. Elder people in mounting numbers need care and accompany. However, their children, who are under great pressure to earn the family, are busy at work and have few time to stay with them. As a result many of them are turning to game for help, which provide them with a opportunity of killing time and having fun.Although, the type of game is diverse, and new games, especially computer games, are produced every year, they are developed for children, teenagers and office workers, not for elder people. Besides, physical model-based game and computer game both have their own flaws. For instance, Chinese chess is a kind of physical model-based game which adopts friendly user interaction for elder people, but with complicated rules which needs teaching. On the other hand, computer games which have rich teaching functions, but adopts less friendly user interaction for elder people, such as keyboard and mouse.By analyzing both the advantages and disadvantages of the two kind of games above, this thesis propose a whole new game for elder people, which preserves friendly user interaction and introduces rich teaching functions. Its name is Physical Model-based and Computer Added Game for Elder People, for short CAGEP. Considering the game habit of elder people, this game is based on physical models. With the help of computer technology, the program would track the space movement of physical models, and analyzing game behaviors of players. By analyzing the specific game behaviors of players, the program would call the related audio and graphics prompt sub-procedures. With the help of these procedures, elder people could grasp game rules, and release the pain in the course.Take Chinese chess for example. The chess board and chess pieces are physical models. Game rules and operating mode is no different. However, by tracking the game behaviors of players and calling prompt procedures, elder people could learn the game rules. What's more, the program would tell player whether they perform wrong or not. After repeating again and over again, players could grasp the game rules and techniques with the game. This game would absorb the virtues of both physical model-based game and computer game. It brings interest and reduce operating difficulties.Thesis will introduce the concept of Physical model-based and Computer added game for elder people. Besides,we will introduce the technologies needed for developing the games, and research its viability and prospect through a case I developed.
