Automatic test technology is widely used in various fields, such asperformance testing of defense equipment, industrial production monitoring,data acquisition in scientific research, and so on. While assuring that theequipment and system run reliably, it improves test efficiency, reducesinvestment of human capital and breaks through the space limitations. Withthe development of bus technology, interface types of a test equipmentincrease, making construction of ATS more flexible. Multibus system, whichmeets more testing needs, replaces the system of single bus. In the multibussystem, design of application software directly affects its performance, whichis one of the key and difficult points of current research. In addition toapplying some existing mature technology to software development of aspecific ATS, this paper focused on exploring an universal, reusable softwaredesign method called OOF, which was suitable for multibus ATS. The specifictasks of this paper are as follows.(1) Bus technology of ATS, two types of typical and universal softwarearchitecture of ATS and VISA were researched.(2) With the purpose of software reuse, frequently-used software reuse technologies were discussed and comprehensively assessed. Then, a softwaredevelopment method of multibus ATS based on OOF was proposed. Byanalyzing and extracting the commonalities of ATS software, function modelof ATS software framework was established, and then parts of the frameworkwere designed and realized through programming.(3) In order to verify the effectiveness of OOF developed previously, itwas applied to the automatic test software development of photometercharacteristics ATS, which was constructed based on RS232and GPIB bus.This application has achieved desired results and improved the developmentefficiency effectively.(4) In the ATS of low voltage power line carrier impedance based onGPRS and USB bus, application layer data transfer protocol was designed,and management software of the system was successfully developed by usingC/S software architecture, stream socket and multithread technology. Thismanagement software realized automatic acquisition and transmission ofimpedance testing data. Subsequently, LXI-based connection andcommunication were expanded for the system, which have achieved desiredresults.(5) In the function test and fault diagnosis system of circuit board builtby VXI, GPIB,1394bus, etc, firstly, the modularization conception wasadopted in the function analysis of power supply board. Then, on the softwareplatform of the system, design and development of TPS were focused on, whose correctness was indicated by the test and diagnosis reports.
