With the improvement of people's living standard, car has been widely used in our life. Rapidly development of cities and increasingly complicated traffic make people easily get lost because of not being familiar with road condition. The navigation system aims to improve the traffic conditions. It can not only provide the preferred driving route to the destination but also enable people to avoid the busy traffic. Currently GPS navigators only have automobile electronic devices such as information navigation, multimedia entertainment etc., most of them lack of security prevention functions. To solve the problem, this paper aims to develop a set of multi-function intelligent GPS navigator which is the combination of tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), wireless rear-viewer, watch digital TV.TPMS is a warning system to secure the driving safety which is mainly used in real-time automatic monitoring. The parameters measured during automobile driving such as tire pressure, temperature, acceleration and the voltage of the sensors are transformed through wireless transmission. Alarm signals will be generated as soon as the tire is flat or low tire pressure happens. TPMS is a new generation of safety equipment after the airbags and ABS. It is one of the emerging research subjects in automobile electronic industry.This paper introduces a set of GPS navigator intelligence which is the combination of TPMS, rear-viewer, multimedia player, CMBB etc., fully describes the characteristics of GPS and TPMS, the development of external TPMS product and the key technology solutions. In TPMS hardware design, the main chip selection, key problems in RF circuit design are discussed. In software design, the communication protocol, the flow chart and program are provided after the research. Finally, the hardware and software debugging, testing method and related results of TPMS products are provided to verify the feasibility of the products. In the man-machine interface part, the custom and transplantation based on WINCE6.0and the realization of computer communication during upper and lower level are discussed as well.
