The development of workflow technology and the implementation of The Supporting Management system of Professional Process further promote the construction of standardization and process in electric power enterprises, whereas at the same time, set higher requirements for workflow technology. The structure validation and operation stimulation of workflow have become the new topic of workflow technology research.The present paper first makes in-depth research on the workflow engine of The Supporting Management system of Professional Process, analyses its workflow model and characteristics, and then determines the subject of the research and the goals to achieve.Based on the in-depth research on the characteristics and the available structural validation methods of workflow model, the present paper puts forward a structural validation method and five rules based on Warshall algorithm. Based on the discrete mathematics graph theory, this method transfers the workflow chart into adjacency matrix, calculates its reachable matrix by applying the Warshall algorithm, and obtains the structural validation results through analysis by combining the five validation rules. The employment of this method has successfully verified the basic structural problems of the workflow model and simplified the verification process. Besides, this method is applicable to certain degree.The present study establishes a workflow operation simulation model based on discrete event dynamic system theory, and designs simulation methods for this model based on events scheduling. The simulation clock applies the event-oriented promoting way and inverse transform method in the generation of random variables.By employing the component technology of JSF and EJB, the resent paper has designed and developed a platform for workflow structural validation and operation simulation. The paper presents the overall design plan for the platform and introduces the realization methods of key functions in detail. This platform has successfully applied in the maintenance of The Supporting Management system of Professional Process, obtained the expected results and verified the utility and high efficiency of the platform.
