A Study On Scientists And Engineers' Mental Culture

In modern high-technology society, scientists and engineers grasp high risky knowledge technology. Their mental culture directly influences their actions and society deeply. It is significative that we study on scientists and engineers'mental culture now or in future. Firstly, scientists and engineers are the main power of scientific enterprises. It is necessary to have well mental culture to make sure of quality of scientific work and development of scientific enterprise. Secondly, the study on scientists and engineers'mental culture can make scientists and engineers recognize the lofty mission of them and improve their responsibilities of society. They not only should try their best in developing the country through science and education, but also be the models of socialist ideological and ethical progress. At last, this kind of mental culture can make scientists and engineers face to challenges in scientific activities and build correct scientific ethical perspective. Then it can make sure of human-centered technology.This thesis can be divided into four parts. The first part analyses scientists and engineers'particularities and influenced factors of formation and development from the aspect of definition of scientists and engineers and mental culture. The second part systematically discusses moral challenges which must be faced by scientists, practical challenges which are brought by scientific development and higher missions which are brought by social development. The third part analyses demands of time in scientists and engineers'mental culture. It includes that scientists and engineers should have spirits of patriotism, strives for realism the innovation, human centered and solidarity and coordination. The forth part explores methods of how to enhance scientists and engineers'mental culture. It advises that we should build appropriate benefit relative system, pay more attention to self-conscious cultivation scientists'scientific moral, exert organic effect of science and technology society groups, strengthen guide of scientific policies and rules and remove supervision by public opinion judgment. The above five aspects can help us to achieve effectively supervision in scientists'mental lives.
