Study On The Circulation Mode Of The Potatoes In Dingxi City

In order to meet the needs of the development of market economy and modernagriculture, the circulation of agricultural products has become the key to the development ofrural economics. However, traditional circulation modes of agricultural products can nolonger meet the demands of the current agricultural economy. Creating and improving thecirculation modes of the agricultural products have become not only the important guaranteeof modern agriculture and the basis of improving the efficiency of the agricultural productscirculation, but also the effective approach to increasing farmers' income.Whether thecirculation of the potatoes in Dingxi is smooth or not restricts the rising of local farmers'income, the adjustment of agricultural structure and the improvement of the current conditionin rural areas.Therefore, how to sell the potatoes of the farmers canonically, effectively andsecurely and deliver the potatoes to the consumers conveniently and rapidly is the problem tobe studied and solved in the circulation of the potatoes in Dingxi.This research is based on the current research condition of agricultural products marketsand the circulation modes both home and abroad. The relevant theories and research methodsof agricultural products circulation have been applied.Potatoes have been scientificallyregarded as the advantageous agricultural product in Dingxi after building scale advantageindex, efficiency advantage index, comprehensive advantage index and relative advantageindex and so on, and in accordance with the relevant agriculture statistics in Dingxi, Gansuprovince and even the whole country during2000to2009.In order to do further research ofthe factual condition of the circulation modes of the potatoes in Dingxi, this research isbased on the field research and conduct analysis of Microeconomics on the circulation ofpotatoes in Dingxi from the aspects of market structure,the condition of economic activities ofthe main body of circulation and the efficiency of circulation etc via SCP. The circulationefficiency of potato seeds, commodity potatoes and fabricated potato products have beenrespectively evaluated by means of comparing the potato market both home and abroad, andanlysing the market price, the current condition of circulation modes, market pattern, togetherwith the cost structure and the profit distribution of the commodity potatoes in Dingxi. Theanalysis results indicate that Dingxi has both the produce advantage and price advantage inChinese potato market; the following three circulation modes are mainly adopted inDingxi---enterprise, base together with peasant household; enterprise, association, basetogether with peasant household; association, base together with peasant household. Thecirculation of potato seed occurs mainly in the invisible market, supported by the visiblemarket. In the mode of "enterprise, base together with peasant household", the circulation ofpotato seed is relatively efficient, which draws on the strong points to offset the weaknesses. The circulation of commodity potatoes in Dingxi occurs mainly in the agricultural productswholesale market; visible market is the core, assisted by the invisible market. According tothe development of the circulation of the commodity potatoes in Dingxi, the current twocirculation modes should be still combined when it comes to the commodity potatoes in salesareas. Meanwhile, the most efficient circulation mode is "peasant household, retailer andconsumer" to the commodity potatoes of origin. The circulation mode of fabricated potatoproduct in Dingxi mainly relies on the visible market, supported by the invisible market. Inthe origin market, the circulation mode---"peasant household/base, processing enterprise, theretailer in producing place and consumer" is adopted, which is of relative high efficiency. Andthe efficient circulation mode---"peasant household/base, processing enterprise, wholesaler insales areas, retailer in sales areas and consumer" is applied in the market in sales areas.Based on what have been analysed above, the optimization strategies in connection withthe problems in the potato circulation have been put forward. In the end, the new circulationmode has been established: the new circulation of potato seed "enterprise, base and peasanthousehold", which is operated under the supervisory systems before, during and after theproduction. Under the guarantee of the rapid development of the local logistics and theimprovement of the potato seed storage capacity of the peasant household, the new circulationmode is the combination of "peasant household, the agent in producing place/agriculturalcooperative association,(the agent in sales areas), the wholesale market in sales areas" and"peasant household, retailer and consumer". By establishing the contractual relationshipamong peasant household, base and processing enterprise, the intensive potato processingability will be improved. What's more, the new potato fabricated product circulation modewill be established, i.e set up the monopolized store in the main sales markets.
