At the beginning of 21st century, with the successful restructuring of International Accounting Standards Board ("IASB"for short), the United States fully involved in the IASB. The two world's most influential accounting standard-setting bodies (IASB and FASB) began to cooperate in the area of standard-setting and reform, in order to explore the development of a series of high-quality accounting standards. On the one hand, it will help the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) prepare in advance to adopt the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) in 2014; on the other hand, it may be conducive to further develop IASB in the development of high-quality global accounting standards, and to improve the influence of IFRSs in the field of accounting along the world.In October 2004, IASB / FASB add the conceptual framework to their joint research projects, strive to develop a complete and internally consistent common conceptual framework, establish a basis for their convergence in standards. In 2008, IASB / FASB published the achievement in"presentation and disclosure"stage of the joint conceptual framework: discussion paper- Preliminary Views on Financial Statement Presentation ("discussion paper"for short).In the paper, the author analyses and studies this"discussion paper"and learn from its idea of classification method according to business activities, in order to search the improvement of presentation of China's current financial statements.The paper mainly describes four parts. Part one talk about the convergence of IASB /FASB in conceptual framework, the convergence path of China's Accounting Standard for Business Enterprises ("ASBE"for short), and the issued"convergence road map". Part two focuses on the basic views and ideas of the presentation of accounting statements in the"Discussion Paper". Part three focuses on the analysis of the characteristics and shortcomings of China's current accounting statements from the perspective of classification method in joint conceptual framework. Part four are mainly on the improvement of presentation of China's current accounting statements according to the principles and ideas of classification method by business activities.In the background of continued convergence of China's ASBE and IFRSs, we should pay timely attention to and study the latest research achievements of IASB, which can provide reference ideas for further development of China's ASBE. Accounting statements is the main carrier of accounting information. Accounting information is true and reliable, clear and lucid, reflects and concerns the future cash flows, etc., will directly affect the value and significance of accounting information for users.
