The degree of aging is growing since china has entered the aging society in 1999. From 1999 to 2009, the number of the elderly population who over sixty increased over forty million. China has 167 million elderly population who over sixty years, in which there are one million in rural areas. The absolute number of the rural aging population is twice as much as the town's. At present, china's rural aging rate has reached 15%.This research is background to the present situation of china's aging, especially the rural aging problem. In the theory section, re-define the concept of the rural family's pension costs which bases on the results of previous research, then define the family pension costs is composed of the economic cost, the opportunity cost, and the spiritual cost. In the part of positive research, analyze four types rural family pension costs in Xixian county of Shanxi Province, and then summarize the present situations and characteristics about rural family's pension costs:more total demand, less actual satisfaction; low family income, high economic cost; big care demand, small opportunity cost; light social support, weight spirit cost. In the summary, discuss this study's core concept, research methods and important problems of this research, at last I look ahead more related research.
