China is the world's largest developing countries.Africa is the most concentrated continent of developing countries. direct investment in Africa is the model of the world's "South-South cooperation". African market is huge which has a broad prospect. Africa has 9.24 million people who live in 53 countries and regions. As one of the world's six oil-producing region,Africa has abundant oil resource, where is the fastest growing region of crude oil reserves and production. China's oversea direct investment has being played significant roles in China's national economic develop -ment, international market expansion and the output of mature technologies. Africa and China have maintained good political and economic cooperation. Africa has be -come one of the main sources of resources and energy of China. Investing in Africa is an important measure for achieving our international industrial raw materials energy strategy and enforce the international competitiveness of China's capital. The study of Chinese direct investment in Africa, has important strategic significance.China's investment in African countries began in the 1980s, which has a small size in the initial stage. After the 1990s, China gradually expanded the scale of investment in Africa, expanded new areas, and became more and more diverse. Since 2000, China's direct investment has been growing rapidly. At the end of 2003,China's direct investment barely had a stock of 4.9 billion. However, by the end of 2009, this figure had increased to 93.3 billion U.S. dollars. China's direct investment in Africa has become a very important aspect of China's of the strategy of "going out" and the implementation of overseas investment.Although China's direct investment in Africa has grown rapidly, its proportion in the total sum of China's foreign direct investment remains very low. The figure of China have a large gap compare to some European countries. According to the 2009 Bulletin of China's foreign direct investment,i, China's foreign direct investment flows to$56.53 billion in 2009, in which the part of Africa only accounts for 2.6%, ranking the end of the continents. China's investment in Africa regional distribution is unbalanced, and the business conditions are mixed. The causes include both the investment environment is the effect of investment environment in the country, and our government and corporation reasons. The main purpose of this thesis is to provide some reference for government and corporate basing on the analysis of the situation of development and the constraints elements of China's direct investment in Africa.This content is divided into seven parts. In the first chapter, the first section introduces the background and significance of the subject; SectionⅡliterature review part briefly introduces the study situation of China's investment in Africa foreign country and China; Section III of the article introduces the structure; the fore section points out the innovation and inadequate. ChapterⅡgenerally lists a number of direct investment theory, including the mainstream international investment theory with relatively large influence and international investment theory of developing countries. In the part of China's direct investment in Africa in the course of development and current status,the article firstly reviews the development process, China-Africa Development Forum in 2000 as the boundary of the two parts which contains a steady development and a rapid development; SectionⅡis the thematic section of this chapter, which analyses the development of China's direct investment in the status quo from five different aspects. In the fourth chapter, regards the oil, market, and return of investment of as three major motivation factors for China's direct investment. Chapter V analyzes the subjective and objective aspects of the constraints and negative factors of the development of China's direct investment. Chapter VI combines the analysis of preceding chapters and the author's own views, respectively put forward the development of China's direct investment by the eight strategies from the government level and corporate level. ChapterⅦof the draw this conclusion based on the above analysis:China's government needs to take a more active strategy to vigorously support Chinese enterprises to invest in Africa; enterprises investing in China need to learn lessons to adapt to the African investment environment, improve their management level of investment.This paper has some innovations in the relevant field of study. The analysis of China's direct investment incentives and constraints point of novelty and focused with reality. On the behalf of the strategy of promoting China's investment in Africa,this article puts forward the strategies from two degrees of government and enterprises. There are both the inheritance and the development of previous studies and its own bold and innovative. Especially, the advice that Chinese government should put forward to enhance its military influence in Africa and the advice of the establishment of investment funds in Africa are constructive.
