The Empirical Studies On Technological Outflow Effect Of Our Manufacturing Making Use Of FDI

Foreign direct investment (FDI) is being more and more effective and has made great achievements in our manufacturing since 1980s. FDI not only increases the supply of capital stock and introduces advanced technologies,but also promote the adjustment and upgrading of industrial structure. Therefore, whether we can elaborate the problems by empirical analysis, such as to what extent does FDI influence our manufacturing? Is there causality between FDI and technological growth? The answers will produce positive roles on our manufacturing foreign capital policy, and sum up the experiences of utilizing foreign investment in the past 20 years as well. It is of great significance to study the relation between international direct investment and local economic growth for exploring that regional economic development.This paper limits the technological outflow definition before the analysis. Through brief review about demonstration effect, competition effect, correlation effect, training effect and human capital flows effect, it analysis the reason of technological outflow。Then the paper enters the technological growth in our manufacturing and FDI the correlation analysis part. Through to status of using FDI and the situation of technological growth in our manufacturing, it concludes that it exists correlation between using FDI and technological growth。The fourth part,the paper empirical analysis the technological outflow effect in our manufacturing form two parts, referencing the method of Miguek D.Ramirez(2000) and Cobb-Dauglas model, using the data form 2004 to 2008 in 30 industries of our manufacturing. It concludes that it is existing positive technological outflow effect in our manufacturing form FDI, but it is different with the ratio of labor and capital。Last the part,this paper put forward the policy recommendation that our manufacturing making use of FDI from three parts.
