In recent years, a new phenomenon—sovereign debt crisis has arisen from the world economy. The so-called "sovereign debt crisis" refers to an economic phenomenon that a country i s unable to pay its due debts, or to rai se new debts to repay old debts. Compared with personal debts and corporate debts, the sovereign debt has a greater impact and influence on national economy, regional economy and even global economy. Therefore, it is of great necessity and reality to explore the real cause of sovereign debt crisis, to seek countermeasures to prevent and resolve sovereign debt crises, and study the enlightenment of sovereign debt crisis on our country.The framework of this thesis is:the first chapter discusses the significance of European sovereign debt crisis, the status of domestic and foreign research and the research methods of this thesis; the second chapter analyzes the concept of sovereign debt crisis, and the background and impact of European sovereign debt crisis; the third chapter explores the causes of the European sovereign debt crisis from three levels—five countries deal with this crisis of European sovereign debt; the fifth chapter studies the enlightenment of the European sovereign debt crisis on China, so that we can calmly deal with sovereign debt crises if they occur in China.This thesis employs the research methods of combining induction and deduction, associating positivist methods and normative methods, and integrating theory and practice, to carry out an all-round study of the debt crisis of the euro.
