In recent years, the Pyramid ownership structures become very popular. When measure the ultimate owners'control rights in the Pyramid ownership structures, the weakest link principle has been widely used. But actually we found that the weakest link principle has a number of serious problems, so a theoretically more satisfactory method of measures is compared using a sample of 106 listed Chinese firms. The different measures produced very different results and the results show the SSI and BZI measure are better than the WLP measure.
