Study On Scale Structure Of Zhejiang Province Urban System

City scale consists of population scale, economies scale and the land scale. Reasonable scale structure requires not only the distribution of the urban population scale and the division of regional industries are reasonable, but also the land scale is reasonable.Only the three scale are reasonable that can build a truly reasonable urban scale structure,then it can produce the best possible results.Take the33cities of Zhejiang as a case. In order to analyse the urban-scale structure,we analyse the population scale, economic scale and land scale. As a result of this study, some main conclusions and viewpoints are detailed as following.It analyses the distribution characteristics of Zhejiang urban population scale. First of all we analyse the development of the population scale in Zhejiang province since reform and opening-up. This analysis revealed that Zhejiang city system is relatively sound, but the distribution of different classes is uneven.That means the number of large cities of Zhejiang Province is insufficient and the the number of small and medium cities are too many. Also, though the first city distribution of the system is ideal, but population size of the first city Hangzhou is relatively small. Finally,we analyse the urban population scale with zipf law.It showes that the urban population scale obey the rank-size rule,and there is a large space for development of the high-level city. Then we found that there are five factors to influence of the size distribution of urban population scale. The factors are the rate of industrialization, population density,industrial and agricultural ratio urbanization and road network density.The first two fators have positive correlation to the city-size distribution.The last three fators have negative correlation to the city-size distribution.The status of urban economic scale and function were mainly studied. First,we analyse the urban economic scale. This analysis revealed that the results show the economy scale of Zhejiang Province is not balanced, but the differences of economic scale reduces. The urban economic scale of Zhengjiang Province was explored with the method of grey correlative analysis.Calculating the city's industrial structure gray related degree and different industries'gray related degree, and thus the functions of the the city of Zhejiang Province were discussed. In this chapter,it analyses the characteristics of the land scale and the spatial expansion mechanism. Population size, economies of scale and space scale interactions and mutual constraints.As an applied study, optimization recommendations and countermeasures were discussed. Further strengthen the core position of Hangzhou by expanding the population size and upgrading the industrial structure. Increase the number of major cities by cultivating some medium-sized cities which have good foundations and great potential. Speed up the construction of industrial parks and four major metropolitan development. And the implementation of differentiated regional policy.
