Company F is a glasses dealer, which mainly produces mid-range of sunglasses and reading glasses, and most products are sold in the U.S. market. It has over150suppliers all over the world,80%of which are from China. The characteristics of the products:seasonal styles, short life cycle and other factors, accompanying with the uncertainty of market demand lead to that most of the products shipped from China to the United States will take a long time for its long distance. Therefore, the supply chain issues are particularly prominent. How to make quick response for supply chain, reduce supplying costs while reducing the shortage cost and inventory backlog has become a core idea to optimize its supply chain.First of all, this paper makes a short description of the concept of supply chain management, and then describes the industry background and product characteristics of sunglasses and reading glasses as well as the sales and competitive situation in the U.S. market. Thereby this paper introduces a common supply chain problem in the optical manufacturing industry. Take F Company as the object of study, according to Company F 's actual operating conditions and the current problems, this paper provides supply chain methodology, case studies and other methods to identify the slow supply of Company F and the deep-seated reason why procurement costs cannot meet the market demand. The scientific theory of supply chain management is based to help set supply chain optimization target and re-set the company F's supply chain strategy to classify all products for different categories, set up the supply chain model that can respond quickly to market changes, optimize and design the operational processes of the supply chain. It includes procurement management, distribution center locating, distribution route optimization and resource planning information system construction. In the end, this paper introduces SCOR and balance scoring card to evaluate the changed supply chain operation mode system to improve the company F's management system and propose feasible solutions.
